WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: This is a traditional dance workshop, and so we will attempt to get as close to traditional wear as possible. If you have Indian clothing or an Indian Salowar/Kameesa set, that can work. Otherwise, on the bottom you want loose fitting cotton pants (the drawstring kind works well) either ankle or mid-calf length. If you don't have anything like this, just wear yoga pants. Bare feet, no dance shoes, please. Black is OK on the bottom. The tops must be brightly colored - no black tops, please. Bring two veils to cover your hips and torso (we'll show you how to do this). The top should be short-sleeved, if not the kameesa set. Cholis are OK, but no tank tops or camisole tops. No sports bras. It is helpful if you tie your hair back. You can bring a notebook and pen, but please keep it on the side of the room, and only write during times specified by the teacher. No video cameras in the room please. Definitely bring your smile and your open heart.
